"The Dutch Dream”

Meet your European business partners for design, engineering and development at Expo Real 2012 Hall A-2 stand 320

Welcome by the Dutch Consul-General

Rob Zaagman- Consul-generaal van het Koninkrijk der Nederlanden in MĂŒnchen

Holland Property Plaza has chosen “the Dutch Dream” as its theme for this year’s Expo Real. But aren’t dreams supposed to be lies? According to the title of a popular Dutch song they are but that title is misleading, because the song’s optimistic conclusion is that dreams can actually come true. Right you are! Moreover: without ambitions and goals, that is: without dreams, people won’t achieve much. So it is an excellent idea to dream at this year’s Holland Property Plaza!

However, in the end it is all about realizing those dreams and that requires commitment, the willingness to take risks and above all: cooperation, in this case between the Dutch and German real-estate sectors.

Opportunities on the Dutch real estate market.

In this climate of economic crisis, it is all too easy to write a pessimistic article about the real estate market. We are confronted with it every day, both professionally and in our private lives. I have no wish to trivialise the situation, yet one aspect which is often overlooked is that every crisis also brings opportunities. Those organisations which respond to such opportunities will be the winners of the future. There is still sizeable demand for real estate in the Netherlands. The population will continue to grow over the next few years and the economy is among the most robust in the world. The persisting demand therefore applies to homes, shops and offices.

‘NO GUTS, NO GLORY!’

Christa Thijssen Welcome Expo Real Visitors,

Our theme for this year’s launching of Holland Property Plaza at Expo Real, "The Dutch Dream - No Guts, No Glory", requires some explanation.
The Dutch real estate sector is embroiled in a crisis that we all know has already lasted for a considerable period of time. For years, all that we have been confronted with are new developments that are categorised as anything but positive.

Still, we all know how necessary this ‘shake-out’ was.

We have now arrived at a point at which new forms of cooperation have to be considered and new challenges faced. One thing is for sure; the current situation will definitely not improve if we do nothing!

And yes, sometimes we have to have guts and demonstrate our resolve.

It is obvious that we have all become more open-minded about cooperation, but why not simply be completely honest and admit that cooperation in the current situation is an absolute necessity.

Given the Dutch sense of creativity and entrepreneurship on the one hand, and German technological expertise and thoroughness on the other, we believe that it has to be possible for all of us to successfully formulate and implement initiatives on the basis of the Dutch and German real estate sectors.

Holland Property Plaza would like to offer a platform for new ideas from which effective and mutually beneficial international forms of cooperation are born for the future.
